  • Of Course YCT Grads Are Getting Gigs at OU Shuls

    Ben Harris at JTA gets a note from Yeshivat Chovevei Torah to let him know that YCT grads are getting jobs at Orthodox Union synagogues. But of course they are, since there’s nary an Orthodox synagogue in the country that isn’t a member (even many Young Israel synagogues maintain dual memberships, the OU hasn’t said a thing against YCT, and in general imposes very few demands on its member synagogues (unlike the National Council of Young Israel, which wants to screen rabbinic candidates for member synagogues). The big news would be if YCT guys weren’t working OU synagogues, since that’d mean that pretty much no Orthodox synagogue at all would have them.
