The RCA says there was “no opposition” to the resolution against women rabbis when it was presented at their conference this week.
The RCA says “hundreds” of rabbis were in attendance. But who wasn’t there? And would those not present have voted for or against the resolution?
We’ll be updating this post as we find out more. Please ask/e-mail any members you know, including your rabbis, if they weren’t there and how they’d have voted. Send your results to us at the e-mail address on the right, and we’ll add it to our list. This is one of those “power of the Internet” kinds of stories, so help us out.
Thus far, we know that one likely advocate of Orthodox women rabbis, Rabbi Marc Angel, wasn’t present at the conference. He hasn’t offered further comment to TJC, but we’ll update if he does.
